The east-facing wharf was originally built during the Xianfeng years of the Qing Dynasty, including two parts, the upper part and the lower part, covering a land area of 650 m2. This wharf was the largest for the transport of salt and coal in Zigong in ancient times and is currently the best preserved salt-transporting facility in the region, with great historic value. In March 2013, it was listed as a national key cultural relic under protection.
