On August 18th, the "Chongqing Key Laboratory of Paleontology and Paleoenvironment Co-evolution in Sichuan and Chongqing" was officially awarded in Chongqing, becoming the first provincial and ministerial key laboratory of paleontology jointly built by Sichuan and Chongqing.
In the future, the laboratory will conduct in-depth cooperative research on Zigong dinosaur fauna and Chongqing Yunyang dinosaur fauna. At the same time, the laboratory has also further strengthened the research of fossil protection technology, mounting technology, etc., and explored the application of popular science transformation of research results such as paleontology and paleoenvironment. It aims to give full play to the role of paleontological fossil resources in the inheritance and popularization of science and culture and urban development.
