Small Hands Holding Big Hands: First Lesson on Geological Hazard Prevention at the Beginning of School

On the morning of 23 February, Zigong UNESCO Global Geopark paid a visit to Changshan Primary School located in the town of Changshan, Rongxian County, to deliver an engaging lesson on geological hazard prevention for the students, to educate them about recognizing and correctly avoiding geological risks.

Yang Jiangtao, an engineer from the Zigong UNESCO Global Geopark's Administrator Center, conducted the lesson. He instructed the teachers and pupils on ways to identify, prepare for, and steer clear of geological hazards. He arranged for the viewing of an instructional cartoon titled Let's Fight 'Monsters' Together, which serves as a fun way to warn about geological dangers. Furthermore, Yang led an interactive Q&A to reinforce their understanding of key geological disaster prevention and control concepts. Eager to participate, the children eagerly raised their hands to respond to the questions, and along with receiving small prizes, they effectively solidified their foundational knowledge of how to prevent geological disasters and avoid associated risks.
