Located in the Group 4, Jiujingba Village, Xinmin Town, Zigong, the fossil is preserved in the Middle Jurassic purple siltstone of Member 2 of Shaximiao Formation. It is a remarkably well-preserved fossil skeleton of a large sauropod with a body length of 17 m. It was then named "Mamenchisaurus youngi".
