This section is located in the rear zone of new Dashanpu excavation dinosaur fossil site, which was discovered by hand excavated fossil pit. This section is about 80m perimeter, 7 ~ 12m high, its rock stratum’s inclination direction is to the northeast with dip 5 ~ 10°. It is currently the typical Middle Jurassic stratigraphic section rich in dinosaur fossils.8 layers of litho horizon which form 4 small sedimentary rhythms can be seen from bottom to top. There are visible cross bedding, wavy bedding, stratum extinguish, lithofacies change, nodules of rock and other geological phenomenon. The sedimentary environment was alluvial plain with rivers, lakes and lush vegetations, suitable for dinosaurs to live and breed.
