Zigong Global Geopark held a series of activities during the 55th World Earth Day

During the 55th World Earth Day and the 5th APGN Week, Zigong Global Geopark held various celebratory activities.

1. Science popularization lectures and school activities. On April 19th and April 22nd, Zigong Global Geopark visited Zhengzi Town Primary School in Rongxian County, Zigong Shuguang Lusheng Experimental School, and the nine-year school in Liqiao Town, Fushun County to conduct science popularization lectures. The lectures aimed to educate students on the origin of World Earth Day, the environmental challenges Earth is facing, and ways to protect the environment.

2. Community public welfare classes. On April 20th, Zigong Global Geopark visited Shengjing Community of Zigong city to conduct the "Youth Power · Earth Hope" public welfare class in celebration of World Earth Day. We organized 40 families to explore the history of life evolution on Earth with our natural science educators. Participants personally experienced the process of converting solar energy into electricity and then into kinetic energy by constructing solar-powered windmills. They also gained an understanding of the application of renewable energy in daily life.

3. Organize geological geopark exhibitions and present popular science materials to the public. From April 19th to 28th, the Zigong Global Geopark held a World Earth Day themed exhibition and provided free science popularization books,  brochures, and other materials to the public.
